Meeting This Year's Charity - Meals on Wheels

What is Meals on Wheels and When Was it Established?

Bathurst Meals on Wheels Services Incorporated is a not-for-profit, community-based organisation located in Bathurst and was established in November 1964.

How Does It Work?

The organisation operates two separate services which are:

•        Bathurst Meals on Wheels  - provides chilled and frozen meals five days a week within the Bathurst Region; and

•       Central West Food Services  - provides a frozen meal service to other Meals on Wheels services located throughout NSW.

We currently produce approximately 318,000 meals per annum, we have 21 paid staff who prepare, cook and pack meals and have 180 volunteers who deliver meals either to our local clients or deliver meals to our other service providers.

What Is Bathurst Meals on Wheels Goal?

Our goal is to continue providing affordable quality and nutritious meals to frail older people, people with a disability and their carers to enable them to live independently at home where most are happiest, while providing social contact and a wellbeing check to ensure our clients are ok.
