We sat down at the beginning of the year and set ourselves a target for this year's HOPE charity event. We thought that we would aim much higher than last year's funds. In 2017 we raised $7,000.00 for Cancer Council. This year we decided to choose a local charity and to aim high! We set our target at $30,000.00. Not only did we hit our target but we blew it out of the water!

We ended up raising $50,000.00 which we presented to The Daffodil Cottage last Friday.

None of us imagined raising this amount of money and we were totally and utterly blown away by the support that was shown by this community.

Daffodil Cottage was built 19 years ago from donations and support from the people in the Bathurst community and 19 years on it is continuing to grow and exist due to these two very important aspects. It is because of the evident "sense of community ownership" and the wonderful display of community spirit that the cottage is what it is today.

We would like to say a massive thank you to Margot Burke and her team for donating their time and food to a cause that means so much to them. Margot has fought this battle first hand with the support of the staff at daffodil Cottage at her side and was just grateful to have the opportunity to say thank you to beautiful staff at the cottage while helping raise money for the cottage.

A big thank you also to Sinclair bus services who has experienced the love and care shown to a family member by the cottage and again donated their services on the night free of charge.

There were so many local businesses that came on board to support this great cause and we would like to take the time to list them below. Remember to support these businesses as they are the businesses supporting our community.

Thank you to everyone who attended the event, we hope you enjoyed the night and We can't wait to see you all again next year.
