WEDDING | Kelsey & Cam

"Really the whole day was so gorgeous! Cam and I have such fond memories of not only the day itself, but the whole planning process too. It was really so much fun, it was exciting and we are still to this day so thankful for the effort and interest you guys put into our day for us!" - Kelsey

Our first outdoor wedding at BoxGrove

Kelsey and Cam were our first couple to host their wedding outside on our tiers soaking up the sun and embracing the picturesque view back to Bathurst. Before being Surrounded by their nearest and dearest they were our first couple to do a 'First Look'.

They chose to do this not only to share the special moment between just the two of them, but to make sure that they got their nerves out of the way. They had their bridal party photos taken prior to the ceremony to maximise the time they could spend enjoying CANAPÉS and lawn games with their family and friends.

They tied the knot on the Deck, had a few family photos taken and most importantly enjoyed some time with their fur babies as a married couple.

Tell us where it all began...

We met in Bathurst at uni in 2010. It was my first year and Cam's third year at uni. I had moved up to Bathurst from Victoria and we were neighbours on campus (our rooms were next door to one another). I guess it was just sort of a natural build up to the relationship, particularly because we were so close in proximity! We basically lived together from the beginning and after three years on uni campus we (officially) moved into our first home together.

I guess we've unintentionally done things 'by the book' you could say - started dating, moved in together, bought a home, travelled overseas a few times, got a couple of puppies, got married and now we have a beautiful bub too!

About the proposal...

Cam proposed to me in Norway! We were on holiday over Christmas time visiting some of his family in Oslo and had made an overnight trip to Tromso. It's an interesting place because in winter the sun doesn't actually rise over the horizon, and it was dark by 1pm! Tromso is made up of the main land and an island, and they're connected by a huge bridge with beautiful views over the water (I have attached some pics). We were making a trip along the bridge to put a padlock on the fence to mark our time there. I was stressing out a bit because we had to check out of our hotel before 12pm and the walk along the bridge was taking a long time! But Cam stopped me in the middle of the bridge, over the water and that's where he proposed :) Funnily enough, Cam said that he had to improvise the proposal, because he'd planned on doing it the night before when we were viewing the Northern Lights! But it was dark and freezing, so I was dressed in a full body thermal suit and we could hardly see each other and he didn't think I'd take my glove off to put the ring on!!

What made you choose BoxGrove...

When we first viewed BoxGrove it was still being developed, but we were instantly drawn in by the vision you had for the property! We were enticed by the barn, but loved the idea of having a full outdoor wedding and the space you have was perfect for it!

You were so generous with your time and we felt really stress free with the ideas and visions you had after just a few meetings with us. It was an easy choice!

What were your favourite memories from the day...

When I first saw how the grounds were set up!

With the bamboo festoon lights, the long tables and the ceremony set up, it looked so gorgeous and I loved the feeling I got when I saw our ideas come to life!

Our first look and pre-wedding photos were really fun! Cam and I were keen to do a first look to get some nerves out of the way, and get the pics done early to maximise the time we could spend with friends and family after the ceremony. Our photographer Briggsy was fabulous and made the process a heap of fun!

I also loved the speeches! It's very overwhelming knowing that there are many people who care so much about you and have been on the journey to that day with you. It was really special seeing my brothers get so emotional!
